Some thoughts I penned down this Earth Day 🌍 We often celebrate as a single day of awareness, reflection, and responsibility—but the truth is, every day is Earth Day. Every breath we take, every resource we use, every choice we make is tied to the silent, constant giving of our Mother Earth. While writing this poem, one thought stayed with me deeply: “We, the temporary existing immortals…” We live as if we are permanent, as if the resources around us are endless. In the name of growth, progress, and ambition, we continue to take—often more than we give back. Forests shrink, rivers struggle, air grows heavier… and yet, we move forward, convinced that development justifies it all. What strikes me the most is this contradiction: We have reached the moon, touched the skies, and dreamt beyond our planet— but here on Earth, so close, so real, we are slowly damaging the very system that sustains us. The impact is not distant or abstract anymore. It reflects back on us—through changing climates, health challenges, and an uncertain future. What we give to nature, knowingly or unknowingly, finds its way back to us. Nature still heals, still gives, still waits. But the question is—how long? This poem is not just a reflection, but a reminder to myself: To be more aware. To be more responsible. To not take theeveryday Earthfor granted. Because maybe the real change begins when we stop treating Earth Day as a date… and start living it as a mindset. — Rachana Bahel #EarthDay #Sustainability #ClimateAction #Nature #Environment #MindfulLiving #Responsibility #ClimateChange #SaveEarth #EcoAwareness #LinkedInPoetry #WritersOfLinkedIn #PoetryCommunity #RachanaWrites
