Christmas has a strange way of slowing us down and pulling us back into time.
Before responsibilities, deadlines, and the constant rush — there were simpler joys.
School annuals, handmade decorations, those Scrapbooks exactly similar to this image which is of course 😉 now through AI, teachers’ homes filled with warmth, prayers that felt natural, and belief that happiness was enough.
This poem came to me suddenly, drawn from childhood Christmas memories that shaped who I am today.
It’s not perfect, and it’s not meant to be.
It’s honest — a small reflection of faith, gratitude, culture, and the innocence we slowly grow out of.
Sharing this here as a reminder that our roots matter.
The memories we carry quietly influence how we show up — at work, in relationships, and in life.
Wishing everyone a season filled with warmth, reflection, and meaningful moments. 🎄✨
My Christmas Memories💓🎄💐
I miss those days,
Those precious memories now so hazed.
As an infant, free to devour
Sweet saviours and sugary hours.
The school annuals filled with cheer,
Fun was the rule we held most dear.
Christmas homework—oh what a task,
Scrapbooks stuck, yet joy amassed.
Cakes received from teachers’ homes,
Freshly baked, warm, overflown.
Yet one odd wish would always be—
Idlis, because she made them best, you see.
The smell of cardamom from her kitchen,
Still follows me every December.
The decors we did in her house, on Christmas trees,
Singing jingles for the Santas and their sleighs with ease.
Trips around the town so bright,
Like magazines unfolding delight.
Folklore felt real, dreams felt true,
All I knew was joy anew.
When prayer was more than ritual,
Not a single day was meant to miss.
A habit held for all 365,
Blessings then felt deep, not casual.
The prime ritual—Santa’s part,
Socks filled up a hopeful heart.
Toys and gifts when prayers were done,
Faith and wonder joined as one.
The color of love, the season of bloom,
Songs and dances with the choir’s tune.
Joy remembered, yet touched with gloom—
For childhood fades too soon.
