Resilience in the Chaotic Age of Algorithms
The Pace of AI and Its Stigmas
It’s important to note here how, in the AI age, we need to be quite fast-paced while at the same time dealing with the stigmas.
I heard the podcast of Elon Musk with Nikhil Kamat, where they so clearly defined AI, robotics, and automation in pace, and estimated forecasts to be perpetually deflated instead of inflated.
The Leader’s Balance
That’s what the leader does. He balances business and people together — because both are his two wheels to balance the cart. If any one wheel falls, the whole spectrum shall go off track.
And when this balance has AI in the business, it’s important that, as a great leader, we constantly nudge our teams with optimism.
Resilience as a Journey
It’s important they feel resilient enough to upskill to empower themselves. And yes, that’s not coming in a day. The journey is long, and so is the willpower and psychology of the people.
As a people manager — what I personally prefer calling a great leader — it’s important he inculcates the ability of adopting the concept of adaptation in his teams, to the level that the acceleration to deal with AI in this fast-paced and pressured world shall significantly reduce.
Preventing Burnout in Hyper-Automation
Having said that, as a leader where the fear of AI overpowering humans is amidst, it is equally important for a people leader to prevent all the burnout that may perhaps arise in the hyper-automated workspace.
Sustainability in Leadership
Since we said above that the journey of resiliency and adaptability may not happen in a day, but ironically we all know how fast-paced AI is. That’s where leadership encapsulates sustainability — by balancing speed and eradicating all those vilifications which may hamper work.
Humans as the Ultimate Superpower
At the end of the day, it’s very important to note that mortals still have the ability to lead the extemporary, as we did in the 90s in our school days when no AI was available. This trait is enough to overpower — that humans are a superpower that always keeps us in the game. Even if it looks like algorithms are ahead in the race.
