India’s AI Era
As I reflect on how AI is transforming the world, I realize we are witnessing a sudden bloom in the market. For India, it seems to be the cherry on the cake.
AI platforms like OpenAI, Perplexity AI, and Gemini are all giving free premium subscriptions for a year. I am really curious and a bit bewildered — is it alarming, or rather should we be optimistic in stating that it is equally valiant that all of a sudden India is getting boosted with these premium free products?
Yes, because we are the market. We are the use case. Our patterns and habits, our data sets, are something which can be a great example to the world.
But amidst the chaos, as Indians we should not miss that critical thinking is very important. Let’s dive into the theorem:
AI and Critical Thinking
AI and Emotional Intelligence
AI and Strategic Thinking
AI and Leadership
AI and Empathy
AI and Decision‑Making
These aspects should go hand in hand and not be overpowered by AI. Because at the end of the day, the country that produces the best minds needs to keep its minds always at the top.
At the same time, we have to be cautious about the data we are sharing. Free subscriptions often come at the cost of providing credit card or debit card details, which can sometimes be alarming.
As a person with a creative mind, I would also be cautious — I would not let my ability for creativity be overshadowed or underpowered by AI. I am still a bit bewildered about how I am going to use it. Because I understand that as the world moves with AI, I need to move too — yet cautiously.
No, I am not a flibbertigibbet; I am just trying to put across the maths. For some reasons, it is good that these free premium subscriptions for a year could be a great boom. But I would rather prefer becoming the master of these AIs instead of them treating me as a use case to understand my patterns.
We need to know that we must stay at 180 degrees and not go 360 — meaning we should move forward with balance, not spin in circles and lose direction.
So while we have become the epitome of use cases, we have to be equally alert about usage and positive impact.
